SAPS give chase to vehicle used in house robbery.

Springs police pursued a vehicle from Dersley to Wattville after a house break-in was reported in Dersley at 11.45am, last Thursday.

When the police arrived on the scene they found a white BMW 320d parked with only the driver of the vehicle inside.

SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says they suspect the driver noticed them and fled the scene.

“We gave chase to Wattville where we found the abandoned vehicle on the corner of Godlo and Mokoena streets,” says Ramphora.

They searched the vehicle and recovered a 9mm Norinco pistol with eight live rounds of ammunition.

Ramphora says they also found three TV sets, a camera, two pillows, a radio, an amplifier and two picks in the vehicle.

“Upon further investigation, we discovered the BMW was reported stolen in Elsburg in August,” says Ramphora.
