Last Saturday it held a donation drive at the Springs Old Boys Club with the aim of collecting clothes and books for underprivileged youth in Kwatsaduza.
“We were really overwhelmed by the response. So many people came through to help out,” says Dumisani Tshabalala, one of the founders of K’sasalethu.
Tshabalala says they managed to collect four boxes of books and clothing.
“It was good to see people staying and enjoying the live music and socialising. It was great.”
The organisation would like to thank all the donors for their contributions.
He says the only way to change the community is to actively participate in bettering the lives of the people around you and not to sit on the sidelines.
K’sasalethu has drop-off points for donations at the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality customer care centres in Duduza, KwaThema and Tsakane.

“We mainly focus on collecting school uniforms and casual clothes, but we accept whatever people donate to the cause.”
The drop-off points are outside the buildings and clearly marked with the K’sasalethu logo.
Tshabalala hopes the community will be spurred into action.
“There are many other people who can still do more. We have not stretched ourselves to the limit just yet.”
