Springs man stabbed in face, head and neck for cellphone and cash

A Bakerton resident was attacked while walking in First Avenue, Bakerton, on Monday.

The man was on his way to see a customer at 7.30pm when he was approached by two men who jumped out of a white BMW.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the victim was stabbed with a knife in his face, head and neck.

“The robbers took his cellphone and R1 200 in cash from his pocket,” says Ramphora.

Paramedics treated the victim on the scene.

The police are investigating a case of robbery with a firearm.
