Children having fun at Springs’ first Out of Africa Market Day

Strubenvale hosted its first Out of Africa Market Day in Madeley Road on Sunday.

Ilse O’Kelly, a local business woman and organiser of the event, says it is the first of many planned market days for Springs.

She claims she initiated this event because she felt Springs needs regular market days.

She was surprised at how many people supported the market day even though the weather forecast predicted more rain.

Aside from the presence of many interesting stalls, there was also a good variety of entertainment for the children including Go Karting and horse rides in a safe environment.

Tayla Passanah made sure that the children’s faces were painted in the characters of their choice.

“I enjoy working with children and seeing the end product of my artwork and the happy faces of the children means a lot,” says Tayla.
