The Springs police were on a routine patrol when they received a call at 6pm about an attempted murder case.

SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says that, when they arrived, the members found the two victims, aged 22 and 30 years, in an open field.
They had sustained multiple injuries to their bodies.
Ramphora says the two men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The police also found a knife and a toy gun on the scene.

“It is not certain what the motive for the attack was,” says Ramphora.
No arrests have been made.
