SAPS arrests five suspects during CBD operation

Springs SAPS arrested five suspects after conducting a special operation in the CBD on Thursday.

According to SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora the operation involved local police and newly deployed constables under the leadership of Capt Sabata Shasha,Visible Policing (Vispol) sector manager.

The suspects are aged between 24 and 26 years.

They were charged with contravening the Films and Publications Act 65 of 1996.

A total of 1 729 fake DVDs were confiscated during the operation.

The suspects will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.

”We want to warn criminals committing offences in our area that eventually we will catch them as we plan on doing more operations in the area,” says Ramphora.
