Ward councillor Ramesh Sheodin visited the park in November to see the progress made by the metro contractors.
Ekurhuleni Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe says they cannot provide a date of the opening as they are not sure how long the aspects of the master plan will take to complete.
The gym equipment which was installed opposite the entrance in February was removed and installed at a different location in the park.
“This was done in order for us to be able to create different zones in the park,” says Gadebe.
In a previous statement made by Gadebe (No date set for park opening) he stated “there are no delays with the project and phase one and two were completed in time”.
Three chalets were built in phase one, two ablution blocks completed, the entrance was renovated and solar lights were put at the entrance.

Phase two entailed the demolition of all buildings that were not safe, including the vandalised hall, one ablution block, the old putt putt course and the old braai stands.
One of the ablution blocks was converted into a disabled ablution facility and pathways were constructed.
“There is currently no contractor on site at the park as we are still in the process of appointing a contractor for phase three,” Gadebe explains.
