Springs Muslim School had a 100% pass rate for the 13th consecutive year, while Springs Girls’ High School improved on last years 95% pass rate to obtain 100%.
Three Afrikaans schools, Olympiapark Skool, Dr WK du Plessis Skool and Protea Skool also have a 100% pass rate.

The two top students in Springs are Marnus Geldenhuys from Hoërskool Hugenote and Raeesah Moola from Springs Girls’ High school, who both achieved eight distinctions.
The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga announced the matric results on Wednesday and stated that Gauteng is the third highest scoring province in the country.
Within the province, there were 88 463 candidates who wrote their NSC exams in November last year and 35 187 distinctions were obtained.
“Gauteng scored 85.1% with progressed learners and 87% without progressed learners,” says Oupa Bodibe, Gauteng Department of Education spokesman.

Progressed learners are those who fail a grade for two consecutive years and are then promoted to the next grade.
