Nikola boasts six distinctions in IEB

Veritas College matric candidates have once again shown they are champions, with their 100% pass rate.

On Friday the learners gathered at principal Terry Holland’s office to celebrate the successful pass rate for the 19th consecutive year.

The 60 matric candidates who wrote the Independent Examination Board (IEB) exams collectively obtained 59 distinctions.

Almost 87% of the matric learners achieved a degree pass, while 13% achieved diploma passes.

The top candidate, Nikola Matic, achieved six distinctions of which two were A+ symbols (90%-100%) and one was an A symbol (80%-89%).

Nikola has applied to study electronic engineering at the University of Pretoria.

Micaela Colaco achieved five distinctions, including one A+ symbol in maths.

She is planning on studying biological sciences at the University of Pretoria this year.

Maxine Watt also achieved five distinctions and plans to study towards a degree in chartered accountancy at the University of Pretoria.

Veritas College wrote Advanced Programme Mathematics for the sixth year and the results were excellent.

Four of the 11 maths and physical science distinctions were achieved with marks of over 90%.

“When learners matriculate from Veritas College, they are rounded citizens who boast academic prowess, a strong cultural and sporting background and a deep sense of spirituality and morality,” says Holland.
