Dangerous pothole still not fixed

Ekurhuleni Metro fixed potholes in Daggafontein about three months ago, but left one hole unfixed.

This hole, on the corner of Fish Eagle and Diamant roads, in Daggafontein Extension Two, is almost 30cm deep.

Barries Barnard, chairman of the Daggafontein Extension 2 CPF, says he cannot understand why the metro fixed all the holes in the area except the one.

“The hole is getting bigger and bigger and three weeks after reporting the open hole to the metro, nothing has been done,” he says.

Barnard feels it necessary to mention the damage the hole can cause to vehicles and tyres.

“The metro will probably only fix the hole in January, but as long as the problem can be solved before it causes serious damage to vehicles,” says Barnard.

No comment was received from the metro at the time of going to print.
