Congregation leads Christmas Carols

The youth of the Turning Point Ministries in Nuffield, performed a play of the birth of Jesus Christ, at the Christmas Carols held at the church on Saturday.

The church and New Beginnings Men’s Group invited friends and family members to Christmas Carols.

Starting at 7pm, the adults entered the dimly lit church, decorated properly for the stage production.

The youth, dressed up as angels, shepherds, Mary and Joseph, baby Jesus as well as the bright Bethlehem star, had all the guests in awe.

Pastor David Payaniandi says the play was just to bring the focus on the family, as the most precious gift from God.

The play was written and directed by Debbie Bourbon, with the aim of basically describing Jesus’s birth.

Although he was quite surprised by the amount of people attending the carols, Payaniandi is grateful for the community’s support.

Christmas carols for the elderly

“We as Christians, need to bring Jesus back into the family time we’re going to spend on Christmas Day, because that’s the real reason for Christmas,” he says.

After singing a few carols by candlelight, everyone enjoyed light snacks and a cold drink.
