Armed with a knife two robbers take cellphone and cash

Springs police arrested two suspects for robbing a house in Zenzele informal settlement in Endicott last Wednesday.

The suspects, aged 26 and 28 years, entered a house at noon while the owner and a friend were inside the house.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says one of the suspects was armed with a knife and pointed it at the owner and her friend.

“The owner managed to run away and called for help,” says Ramphora.

When she returned her friend informed her that the robbers took her cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash before they ran away.

“The robbers are allegedly known to the victims,” says Ramphora.

The suspects will remain in the police cells until their first court appearance.
