Grand opening of Hirsch’s homestore

Hirsch's homestore just opened their 14th appliance and electronic retail outlet in South Africa.

Together with his wife Margaret, CEO of Hirsch’s Homestore Allan Hirsch, opened the doors to their 14th store in South Africa on Friday morning.

Although the rain put a bit of a damper on things, a crowd still gathered outside of the large building, located only a stone-throw away from Carnival City, for the ribbon cutting ceremony which Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina and MMC of Finance and Economic Development Doctor Xhakaza attended.

Along with a television crew, people lined up outside the doors to snatch up the limited quantity of discounted items as part of the opening specials.

Despite the storm, around 200 people showed up the previous night by VIP invitation to cheers a glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion.

On Friday, representatives from each name brand product stood waiting to present their opening specials to the first customers who walked through the doors.

Many of the areas were decorated according to a carnival theme and offered sweets and other treats to customers.
