Parents, confirm placement now or lose your child’s spot
The Gauteng Department of Education appeals to all parents to confirm placement offers for their children's schools for 2017.
The call goes out to parents of children going into Grade One and Eight next year.
The department calls on these parents to confirm offers of placement by Friday or risk losing their children’s places which will be offered to other parents who are on the waiting list.

To date, 51 200 parents still have to confirm their offers of placement.
According to the department, this delay on the part of the parents is clogging up the system, making it difficult for the department to place all learners who have applied.
The department invites parents in Ekurhuleni to the Ekurhuleni Regional Open Day on Saturday between 9am and 4pm at the Hoër Tegniese Skool in Springs at 1 Witroad, Lodeyko.

The department states that the placement of learners is on track.

Districts are currently facilitating the placement of applicants who applied between April 19 and June 1.
All applicants will be placed.
Parents are advised to visit their respective district offices, where they will receive the necessary assistance.
