SAPS find burnt-out Volvo

The owner of a silver Volvo V40 had to follow instructions from an armed suspect, before the suspect dropped him off in Brakpan and hijacked his vehicle on Wednesday.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the owner of the vehicle was on his way home from work at 6.15pm, when the suspect jumped in front of his vehicle on the corner of South Main Reef and Plantation roads, New Era.

The suspect opened the passenger side of the Volvo and pointed a firearm at the owner.

“The owner was instructed to follow the armed suspect’s instructions until he was ordered to stop in Heidelberg Road, Brakpan,” says Ramphora.

Without warning the armed suspect ordered the owner of the Volvo to get out of the vehicle.

The suspect made a U-turn and drove off.

Ramphora says a motorist assisted the owner of the vehicle by calling the police.
