Feeding scheme fills the void

A group of people hosted a Butler Park feeding scheme on Saturday in Geduld.

Sanette Joubert, one of the organisers of the event, says this will be the last feeding scheme at Butler Park this year.

“This time, the Pink Pistols biker group came on board to help with the arrangements for the day and the donations,” she says.

Sanette adds that they have been very fortunate with the feeding scheme as they have received various donations from many sponsors.

Disadvantaged families came with their children to enjoy a fun-filled day.

Children received sweets parcels and there was more than enough food to go around.

Sanette and her husband, Diekie, got up at 2am on Saturday morning to start preparing the meat for the day.

‘Pap en vleis’ were dished out to community members as well as vegetables and milk.

The ambulance service, Rescue24 stood by for the day in case there as an accident.

Hennie ‘Bees’ Nel, the MC for the day, thanked them for offering their services free of charge as well as the various sponsors.
