Proud moment for Michelle
Michelle Immelman from Vita Nova Centre in Daggafontein received a Vita Basadi Lifetime Achievement Award at a gala evening held at the Johannesburg City Hall last Wednesday.
A trophy and certificate will now find its place in her office at the centre.
The awards were launched in 2015 as part of Women’s Month and is an initiative of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL).
Michelle says she was shocked when they called her to the stage.
She says the GPL speaker, Ntombi Mekgwe, honoured the women of Gauteng who selflessly serve and empower their communities.
“It was a big surprise and I didn’t expect it all, I was totally lost for words and truly humbled,” says Michelle.
She dedicates this award to all the wonderful people who have supported her and the centre in various ways.
“Without them this award would not have been possible,” she says.
Michelle was also nominated in the same category in 2015.
