Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the case was first heard in the Dunnottar Magistrates Court and then transferred to the High Court.

Masombuka’s sentence included five years imprisonment on the kidnapping charge and eight years for possession of drugs.

The court ordered that three of the five years should run concurrently with the eight years imprisonment.

Masombuka will serve her 10-year sentence at Modderbee Prison.

“The trial against the two accomplices was separated and will take place between October 17 to 21,” says Ramphora.
