MHA’s changes at SRV

At the recent official opening of the newly renovated Springs Retirement Village (SRV) the residents and guests were treated to entertainment and delicious eats.

This prestigious event was held in celebration of the upgrades which were made possible by the Methodist Homes of the Aged (MHA) group who took over SRV in March 2014.

Theresa Fry, SRV manager, says the MHA group decided to upgrade the existing building and a new larger clubhouse was built as well as 16 self-catering accommodation units.

“The frail care can now accommodate 58 people,” she says.

One of the older cottages was converted into a coffee shop and hair salon and these are very popular with the residents and visitors.

“What was first known as the Red Cross shelter is now a pet-friendly home for the elderly,” says Theresa.

The MHA’s mission is to provide affordable, safe frail care accommodation services for the elderly.

MHA’s chief executive officer Kelvin Glen welcomed all the guests and thanked the SRV choir for their lovely performance.

SRV resident Fred Hendricks says they are grateful for the patience of the staff and she thanked MHA for the amazing changes.
