Neena’s owner’s search continues

Owner believes Neena was taken by someone.

Searching for her missing dog on a dumping site in Benoni was the least Geduld Extension resident Michelle Myburgh could do to find her Neena.

Michelle, who lost her Staffordshire bull terrier Neena, is going through all ways and means to find her dog. Neena, almost four years old, went missing from Retief Street on July 29.

Michelle and her family are adamant not to give up their search for their beloved Neena.

“When I read an online article on the Springs Advertiser’s sister paper, the Benoni City Times, about the carcass of a Staffie dumped at a landfill site, I immediately went there with my friend and searched through the dump site for almost two and a half hours,” she says.

The family has followed every lead possible to try and find their “baby”, but it is fruitless.

She believes Neena was taken by someone.

If she’d known someone would take Neena, she would have microchipped all her dogs, including Neena.

“You never expect someone to actually take your dog without permission,” she says.

Since Neena’s disappearance the family has gone through all lengths of trouble, including printing more than 5 000 flyers to put up all over Springs.

She claims someone saw Neena in Geduld with a woman running after her, allegedly claiming to be from the Springs SPCA.

“We have no proof it was Neena, but we want her back. She belongs with us where she is safe,” says Michelle.

The Myburgh family has contacted all the SPCAs in the area.

“When I read the article it frightened me to think our Neena was dead and had been dumped, but our search will continue,” she says.
