Robber threatens to shoot teenager

A father (age unknown) returned from the shops in time to hear his 13-year-old daughter's screams from their house in Kornalyn Street, Dersley on Saturday.

He left his house at 2.20pm and returned at 2.50pm, when he noticed the gate lock was open.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the father ran into the house and found four suspects inside.

The daughter was ordered to cover her face while one of the suspects pointed a gun at her.

Another suspect told the teenager’s father to keep quiet otherwise “we will shoot you”.

“The suspects threatened the father because they were scared he might press the panic button,” says Ramphora.

Three TV sets, a watch, clothes and alcohol were taken from the house.

No shots were fired and the suspects fled the scene, with the stolen goods, on foot.
