Thieves take expensive compressor

Two security guards were tied up with string during a business robbery in Bangladesh Street, Slovo Park phase two last Friday.

One of the guards was allegedly approached by the driver of a white Toyota Hilux and a passenger who asked for directions to Springs.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the guard thought nothing of it and that the driver also asked for directions to KwaThema.

The guard, accompanied by another guard, returned to the guard room.

A few minutes later the two suspects returned to the business and one of them, armed with a firearm, pointed his gun at both guards.

“The guards were tied up with string and left in the guard room, while the suspects took a compressor worth approximately R10 000, and left the scene.

No shots were fired.

A business robbery case was opened at the police station.
