Manqele Mbonele (38) died in a local hospital on Monday.
“He was shot at on Paul Kruger Highway, but it is not sure exactly where the incident took place,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman.
The deceased was taken to a nearby hospital on July 21 at 7.30pm.
Ramphora says the body was taken to the Springs Mortuary and they are investigating a murder case.
The deceased is believed to be from Kagiso Hostel in Kagiso, Krugersdorp.
