Ekurhuleni spokesman Themba Gadebe says the metro’s waste management services experienced a shortage of vehicles.
“This was due to mechanical breakdowns and, as a result, there have been backlogs in service delivery,” he explains.
“The Springs waste management services have, however, received six new refuse collection vehicles.”
Gadebe says this should normalise the services and improve turn-around times.
