Springs police spokesman, Capt Johannes Ramphora says the security guard on duty was in the guard room at 12.30am, when an armed man entered and ordered the guard to be quiet.
While the one robber tied up the guard, another robber entered the guard room with the other security guard on duty.
Ramphora says the guards claim there were four robbers.
All the robbers left the premises at 5.30am and got away with the 13 truck tyres worth approximately R100 000.
The police opened a business robbery case.
