Nikyla Miss Best Model SA

Bakerton resident Nikyla Moodley (8) was recently crowned as Miss Best Model SA 2016.

She was also the overall junior winner in the age group three to 12 years, during the pageant.

Nikyla, who is a grade two student at Veritas Preparatory School, has been part of the Model Manifest Modelling Agency since the age of four under the guidance of her teacher Nicolette van Vuuren.

Nikyla has won many titles over the past few years and she is blossoming into a beautiful, confident young girl.

She started participating in competitions with Pageants South Africa in February and she was crowned second princess in the Miss Queen of the World 2016.

Another title she can add to her list is second princess for Miss Africa 2016 which was recently held at OR Tambo International Airport.

At this event Nikyla was chosen to represent South Africa in Turkey in September.

“I believe it doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop. As the saying goes, ‘Nothing is impossible’. The words itself say it’s possible for me,” she says.

Charlene Moodley (34) says her daughter is a fun-loving, caring and vibrant little girl who always tries to be the rainbow in someone’s life. “She is the most loving and caring child, treating young and old with the world of respect,” she says.

Her daughter’s spontaneous and responsible attitude astonishes them.

“She is our princess on the ramp but knows how to differentiate between home, school and being a little model,” says Charlene.

She and her husband Elvin Moodley feel blessed to have such a beautiful daughter who they are very proud of.

“Nikyla brings nothing but love, joy and laughter into our lives and without a doubt she is the apple of daddy’s eye,” Charlene adds.
