Charity costs Samaritan dearly

Helping people in Orpiment Avenue, Dersley, turned into a having a Samaritan's vehicle hijacked on Saturday.

According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, a man left his friend’s house at 1am and stopped to assist people with their vehicle parked on the side of the road.

“Two men approached the Samaritan and after an argument they assaulted him with a beer bottle,” says Ramphora.

One of the suspects jumped into the victim’s silver Chery and drove off, followed by the other suspect in a VW Golf.
