Man killed while standing next to his vehicle on N17 near Springs

Athlenda Mathe, Netcare 911 spokesman, says reports from the scene indicated the man was standing next to his stationary vehicle which was parked on the yellow line at the time of the accident.

“It is not yet clear what the man was doing standing next to his vehicle,” she says.

When Netcare911 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the man lying a few metres away from the vehicle.

Mathe says the man had already died due to the extensive injuries he sustained.

The two women, who were in the car that hit the man, sustained minor injuries but refused hospital treatment.

The exact cause of the accident will be investigated.
