Metro plans to renovate all units

"The process of revamping Presidentia in Paul Krugersoord, started subsequent to the receipt of the maintenance plan," says Themba Gadebe, Ekurhuleni Metro spokesman.

Residents recently expressed their gratitude for the long overdue maintenance work done by the metro.

Gadebe says the maintenance of the complex is ongoing, depending on the availability of funding for all complexes belonging to the metro.

“We appoint contractors through the tender process for the duration of three years,” he says.

All complaints received are tended to immediately, either through the chairman of the resident’s committee and or the metro’s human settlements department.

He says the fixing of the leaks is an ongoing process occurring in both terms of the programme when required.

The replacement of tiles depends on case merit, however, prior to allocation of a vacated unit a complete repair is done, which includes painting and replacement of tiles where necessary.

“The intention is to have all complexes renovated,” he says.
