Fun at biker event

Wheels in the Sky motorcycle club hosted its annual rock festival at Silver Wings on Saturday.

According to club member Henny Steyl, this “day jol” is held annually by the club around this time and usually draws hundreds of people.

Although it is an annual get-together of the club it is always open to the public to enjoy the bands and various stalls.

It was a slow start in the morning due to the rain but soon more bikers streamed to the pub to join in the fun.

“It was a relatively good turnout considering the rain,” says Henny.

The club invites bikers from the Vaal, Krugersdorp, Pretoria and Johannesburg to join them on the day.

A line-up of two live bands performed throughout the day at the festival where there was a beer tent and many food stalls.

The bands entertained the crowd with their live music of various genres.

Ronald Oliver (73) doesn’t belong to any of these clubs, but he enjoys going to their events.

“I collect badges at these events,” he says.
