Progress tour around Springs

It was a proud moment for Derrick Vilakazi (36) when several businesses and members from various Ekurhuleni Metro departments accompanied him on a tour around Springs.

The aim of the tour was to witness the amazing progress of the Springs Clean Project.

Vilakazi, owner of Vilakazis Garden Services, says they visited Tonk Meter Way, Springs West and Industry roads and Paul Kruger Way and the Windmill Park.

“The cleaning project was initiated for one goal only and that is to keep the main roads in Springs clean and that is exactly what I am doing,” he says.

He is proud of the work his team has done and grateful for the trust put in his company by all the businesses and the Ekurhuleni Metro.

“My personal aim is to maintain the mentioned areas and the metro’s and businesses’ continued support will make it possible.

“The community can enjoy themselves at the Windmill Park again by having picnics there as the area is safe, specially with the fence around it,” Vilakazi says.

Mary Reynolds, president of the Eastern Gauteng Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EGCI), says the community should know that businesses and the garden service are involved in keeping the entrances clean.
