Robbers don bandannas as woman approaches

Three armed men, wearing bandannas, robbed a house in Lavender Road in Bakerton on Thursday.

A woman arrived at home at 2pm, and noticed the three suspects wearing gloves.

According to the Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, the woman claims the suspects covered their faces with the bandannas.

They took the woman into the house where two domestic workers awaited them.

Ramphora says the suspects searched the house and took R10 000 in cash.

“The woman handed over a bag containing jewellery to the suspects, who fled the scene with the stolen goods.”

The estimated value of the jewellery is not known to the police.

According to a witness the suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a gold Toyota Camry.

No shots were fired and the victims were left unharmed.

A case of house robbery has been opened and anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact the Springs police on 011 365 570/19/20.
