Raising funds over potjie

With winter fast approaching, what better way to keep the community warm than over some potjie kos?

The Selpark Community Policing Forum (CPF) promises an exciting and eventful Saturday as it hosts its potjie kos competition and flea market on Saturday, April 30, at 9am.

The event is a fundraiser whose proceeds will go towards the CPF, to improve maintenance and facilities.

Mandy Thorpe, the CPF’s liaison for the event, encourages everybody to enter the potjie kos competition.

Each entry qualifies your potjie kos to be adjudicated, and if it delights the taste buds (and warms the stomachs) of the judges, the entrant will receive a prize.

“Anybody can take part and the best potjie will win a grand prize,” says Mandy.

Families are welcome to partake in the day’s festivities, as there will be various stalls, children’s games, food and a beverage truck to add to the ambience of the day.

Further information regarding the event and entries for the potjie competition can be obtained from Mandy Thorpe on 082 892 5105.
