Photograph competition extended

The closing date for photos to be submitted in our photo competition has been extended to August 26.

The Springs Advertiser, in partnership with Foto Chaps, is looking for photos that bvest capture the best things about Springs.

The aim of the competition is for aspiring photo-fundis to show us what makes Springs a great town to live and work in, and what gets them excited about the town.

Mike Lerios, from Foto Chaps, has sponsored a photography course – consisting of four lessons – for the person who takes the best photo showcasing Springs’ best side.

The course includes basic photography skills and techniques and is perfect for budding photographers wanting to improve their pictures.

Photos should represent the best of Springs.

While there is no set subject your photo should show the judges a positive side of our city and should illustrate why you love the city.

They may be taken in colour, sepia or black and white and can be either portrait or landscape.

Mike and two members of the Addie staff will judge the photos.

All photos entered into the competition will be displayed at our Wheels and Wings show on September 10.

To make submitting your photo as easy as possible, aside from emailing your submission to Samantha Keogh on samk@caxton.co.za, you may also submit it on our facebook page or via whatsapp to 079 408 9334.

Once the closing date has arrived, we will select the finalists who will be asked to submit a high resolution version of their image (at least 1Mb, in JPEG format) for the final judging.

All entries must include the name and contact details of the photographer as well as a short description of where and when (time of day) the photo was taken and why this photo represents the best Springs has to offer.
