Hijackers strike again – Ermelo Road also in their sight

Two hijackers offered their victim a beer and left him in Tsakane on Thursday.

According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, the victim was driving his Ford Ranger in Ermelo Road, Strubenvale, at the time of the hijacking.

It was 2pm and he was on his way to Secunda when he was stopped by a driver in a Chevrolet.

A suspect then jumped out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at him.

Ramphora says the suspect ordered the victim to lie on the floor at the back of the vehicle and drove off with the victim still inside.

The Ford Ranger was followed by the Chevrolet.

The victim claims they stopped at some point and he wasn’t aware of where he was.

Ramphora says, according to the victim, the suspects ordered him to get out of the vehicle and offered him a beer to drink.

The hijackers left the victim at the scene and drove off in both vehicles.

“When the victim asked a bystander where he was, he was informed he was in Tsakane,” says Ramphora.

An EMPD vehicle offered the victim a lift to the Dunnottar Police Station, where a case of hijacking was opened.

The case was transferred to the Springs police on Friday.
