Suspects only take TV

A woman hid in her bedroom cupboard while suspects robbed her house in Lebombo Street, Eastvale on Tuesday (April 5).

The victim of the house robbery was confronted by an armed suspect and fled to her bedroom after the house alarm went off at 10.15am.

She heard a vehicle outside and went to investigate, but soon realised someone was breaking down the back door.

Captain Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the woman was surprised when she was confronted by the armed suspect.

“He instructed her to keep quiet and took guard at her bedroom door,” says Ramphora.

The woman then climbed into her cupboard to hide and stayed there until she heard it was quiet in the house.

She found the back door of her house open and alerted the neighbours.

The woman noticed a flat screen TV worth R6 000 was missing.

Ramphora says the woman is not sure how many suspects entered the house, but the vehicle they arrived in was a white bakkie.

She doesn’t know the make of the vehicle.

The police are looking for the suspects and a case of house robbery is being investigated.
