Metro seeks help with leak

The Ekurhuleni Metro has been struggling to trace the water leak in Hewitt Road, Selcourt, since the beginning of March.

Willem Greyvenstein (76) says he reported this leak last year and again in February and in March.

“Last Tuesday I noticed the area had been fenced off by metro workers and that the water leak wasn’t fixed yet,” says Greyvenstein.

According Zweli Dlamini, mayoral spokesman, the matter is receiving attention, but, the workers have been struggling to trace the leak.

He says the metro team will continue to search for it.

The metro has also contacted Sasol to assist them with this problem, because the company has a gas line going through the same area.

“This gas line and a concrete slab in the area are making our work a little more difficult, hence our communication to Sasol, to seek permission to search for the leak closer to their pipeline,” says Dlamini.

He says they will continue the search this until they find the source of the leak.
