Robbers surprise woman

Two suspects, one armed with a gun, surprised a woman in her house in Snipe Road, Daggafontein on Saturday.

The woman was brushing her teeth in the bathroom at 12.30pm when she heard a loud bang and went to investigate.

She found one suspect in the passage and another armed suspect in her kitchen.

The armed suspect pointed his gun at her, pushed her into a bedroom and ordered her to cover her face with both her hands.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the woman claims two more suspects joined the duo that was in the house.

The four suspects took a flat-screen TV, laptop, cellphone, microwave and the woman’s handbag containing her purse and ID and left the house.

Ramphora says after a while, the woman noticed she was alone and pressed the panic button.

Members from the security company and the police arrived within minutes after receiving the alarm.

The woman claims the wooden door was open, but the security gate was locked.

The suspects gained entry by breaking the security door.

A case of house robbery was opened at the police station.
