According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, the police reacted to a call they received about an alleged argument between two men at 6.15pm.
“When we arrived on the scene, we found the body of a man, with stones next to his body, lying in the middle of road,” he says.
The man was bleeding and was allegedly stoned to death.
The police called for an ambulance and when the paramedics arrived, they declared the man dead on the scene.
Ramphora says the man died due to multiple injuries to his head and body.
The reason for the killing is unknown.
A case of murder was opened at the police station and the police will investigate the case.
