Four arrested

Four suspects were arrested by the Springs police in Selcourt on Friday after being found in possession of a stolen motor vehicle and other stolen car parts.

According to the Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora, at about 7pm on Friday the police arrested four men, aged 28, 32, 42 and 49 years old, respectively, at the Selcourt enclosure.

This comes after the men allegedly hijacked a VW Golf in Brakpan.

“The tracking company traced the vehicle and when they saw the police, they explained the situation and asked the law enforcement officers to accompany them.

“They were able to trace the car to a Selcourt enclosure where they found the stolen car and other stolen car parts from other vehicles.

“The suspects were then arrested, while we have found that they have also been involved in other crimes. Hence we are still investigating further,” he says.

The four will soon appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court.
