Woman hijacked in Eastvale by three armed suspects

A woman was hijacked in the driveway of her house in Cathkin Road, Eastvale on Tuesday.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the woman stopped to open her house’s gate, reversed her car in the driveway at 6.10am and got out to close the gate.

“When suddenly, she was approached by three armed suspects, one with a knife,” says Ramphora

The suspects jumped into her white VW Polo and drove off.

Ramphora says the suspects did not only get away with the woman’s car, but also with R4 000 in cash, a cellphone, ID book and driver’s licence.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating.

A case of hijacking has been opened at the Springs Police Station.

The vehicle was found at Lindelani Informal Settlement in Benoni later during the day.
