WATCH: Clean, drinking water is wasted as metro refuses to fix massive leak

A leak in Argon Road amounts to a pool of water that has been unattended for almost a year.

Anthony Pretorius (47) reported the problem to Ekurhuleni Metro last Monday.

“I have personally spoken to an employee at metro who said he would send a Rand Water technician to rectify the problem but that has not happened as yet,” says Anthony.

He adds, “The water runs quite a distance and it is clearly not sewage water, it is clean, clear, drinking water.”

Jaco Kruger(39) also spoke to the Addie regarding the problem.

“I reported the problem in April last year and nobody has come to rectify the situation,” says Jaco.

“Metro employees were seen last year attempting to fix the leak but left and have not returned,” he adds.

Anthony says the metro employee he spoke to is no longer taking his calls.

“This is a serious problem and needs to seen to urgently,” says Anthony.

No comment from metro has been received as yet regarding the water leak.
