A 77-year-old man dies in street

Frederick Jacobus Visagie (77) died after he collapsed on the corner of Fryer and Clydesdale roads, Casseldale at 4.30pm, on Friday.

According to Amanda Greybe, Springs police spokesman, Visagie was found on the street corner by the community who contacted the police.

Sector Three police arrived at the scene and found Visagie on the ground, bleeding.

The police called for an ambulance and the paramedics declared the man dead on the scene.

“We believe he died of natural causes, but await the autopsy report to determine the cause of death,” she says.

An inquest has been opened following an investigation to determine the cause of death.
