Teach your child how to tie their laces

We have given you 12 easy steps that will help you to teach your child how to tie their shoes.

1. Give your child a pair of untied shoes
2. Pull both laces upward making sure laces are even to create a parallel set of train tracks.
3. Cross the tips of the laces making a “X”.
4. Tuck the tip (either left or right) of the “X” underneath into opening.
5. Pull both tips outwards away from each other until “X” reaches base of shoe.
6. Fold lace in half making one bunny ear using one hand (either left or right).
7. Fold other lace in half making second bunny ear with other hand.
8. Pull bunny ears outwards away from each other to secure “X” at the base of the shoe.
9. Taking both bunny ears create a “X”.
10. Secure “X” made of bunny ears with one hand (either left or right).
11. Tuck one bunny ear (either left or right) using the opposite hand underneath into opening until you see the tip of the bunny ear peaking out of opening.
12. Grab the tip of the bunny ear and pull outwards away from each other to secure knot. With practice your child will be able to tie their own laces in no time.
