Kwasa children are spoiled

About 30 men who belong to a Moustache Club decided to reach out to the children at Kwasa.

A business in Selcourt, where these men are employed, has been assisting Kwasa with monthly donations for the past four years.

Desmond Wood, a member of the club, says the team hosted a fun day for about 150 Kwasa children and entertained them with games such as egg and spoon races and soccer.

“We decided to visit Kwasa and take with us the moustache team’s design of four pieces of art,” he says.

The art is in the form of four canvases with the words love, respect, fun and hope.

The canvases were painted by the club members and all the children of the Kwasa school decorated the canvas with colourful hand prints.

“This is symbolic of togetherness and team work,” he says.

These were hung at the school and provide inspiration and motivation, something to remember when times are tough.

“It was quite special when the children started singing to us,” says Desmond.

Rev Sharron Dinnie, founder of Kwasa, enjoyed the day with the children and the moustache team who treated them to a happy time with a toy included.

“It was wonderful gesture of the men to have spent time with the children,”she says.

“Giving their own time is exceptional,” she adds.
