Three armed suspects pose as customers

Three armed suspects robbed a business in Fourth Street, CBD on Tuesday.

Two of the suspects entered the shop at 6.45pm, pretending to be customers and one of them pointed a gun at a 31-year-old employee.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says when the third suspect entered the shop, he closed the door behind himself and informed the woman that it was a robbery.

The woman and another employee were forced into a room at the back of the shop and ordered to open the safe.

The two victims were instructed to stay in the room for 10 minutes.

The suspects took R1 200 in cash, a cellphone, tablet and baby clothes before running away.

No one was injured.

A business robbery case was opened at the police station on Wednesday morning.
