Christmas cheer among friends

Springs seniors enjoyed a Christmas lunch at SpringsCare Community Centre on Friday.

Old friends who haven’t seen each other for a while were seen enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Club member Margaret McCreath (80) says it is not the last get together this year, but many people want to go away, therefore the lunch was held on Friday.

The last lunch at the centre will take place on December 11.

SpringsCare organised caterers for the event, to ensure that each and every staff member was in a relaxed and festive mood.

There was more than enough food to eat and the very hungry enjoyed a second portion of the chicken kebabs and mutton with veggies.

Yvonne Lotter (79) and Jean Blakemore (78) have been friends for 55 years and enjoy each other’s company, especially at these functions.

There are a number of people who have been members of the senior citizens club for many years, who also arrived on the day to see their old friends.
