Father Christmas arrives early

Sanette Joubert from Geduld spoiled a few needy children with early Christmas gifts on Saturday.

Each child had the opportunity to choose what they wanted to eat and drink at Mike’s Kitchen before they each received a Christmas gift.

Sanette has been involved in looking after and feeding children in Geduld for many years.

She rounds off the year with a Christmas party at a restaurant where children can play and enjoy themselves.

She says it is heart-warming to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they open their gifts.

“We try to buy gifts to the need of each child,” she says.

All the children enjoyed an ice cream Christmas cake and cupcakes made especially for them.

“An unknown woman stopped at my house on Friday and gave me me small handmade teddy bears to hand out to the children,” she says.

This gesture was welcomed by each child.

Sanette says it has been a long year with lots of difficulties and challenges, but she is grateful to everyone who contributed to help her look after these children.
