Unplanned water interruptions

The Modder East, Eastvale and Kingsway areas have experienced unplanned water supply interruptions since Friday, which has resulted in low to no water supply.

Ekurhuleni Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe says water tankers will be deployed to the corner of Outeniqua and Lainsberg roads, and in Cloverfield Road at the Dersley supermarket.

Should the need arise, the metro will shut off the water supply from 9am to 3pm and from 8pm to 3am until the reservoir supplying the area is replenished.

“This will continue until the situation has stabilised,” says Gadebe.

The metro apologises for the inconvenience caused by the water interruption.

Gadebe advises residents to use water sparingly and to refrain from filling swimming pools, irrigating the garden or using sprinkler systems and washing vehicles with hose pipes.
