Bakerton senior citizens to be honoured at cultural luncheon

The senior citizens of Bakerton will be celebrating 25 years with the Bhairavi Sungum of Springs on November 22.

The ‘Day with Our Elderly Parents’ cultural luncheon presentation will be held at the Bakerton Community Centre at 11.30am.

All senior citizens are invited to attend.

“We have consistently hosted this prestigious event to show our appreciation to all senior citizens for their contribution in the upliftment and development within the community,” says Kesavan Pillay, chairman of the Bhairavi Sungum of Springs.

The day will commence with lunch, followed by tea and cake, and will conclude with the presentation of gifts to each and every senior citizen.

Included in the programme is plenty of entertainment, live music and performances by renowned artists.

Musical chairs will be played and the winner will be presented with an anniversary trophy.

“We are deeply honoured to have served our senior citizens of Bakerton for 25 years and every effort will be made to ensure that all receive an invitation.

“I must, however, stress that admission to the event is strictly for senior citizens,” says Kesavan.

Although admission is according to the register, should any senior citizen not receive an invitation in time, they are most welcome to attend the function.
